KRABI MAGAZINE ONLINE
Krabi is considered to be one of the most attractive regions of an amazing country: Thailand. Krabi province has it all and it offers you the most diverse natural beauty, starting from dozen of islands in the Andaman Sea complete with stretches of soft coral sand and surrounded by crystalline waters home of colourful coral reefs. But Krabi’s varied and fascinating province has much more than sea and sand: towering rocky cliffs, caves harbouring Buddhist temples, waterfalls, seemingly endless plantations of rubber and oil palm trees, lush and green national parks home to different species of fauna and flora, verdant mangrove forests and inlets that wind their way under soaring cliffs of karst mountains, and much more.
Countless natural attractions abound, amongst them a shell cemetery millions of years old. This all has come to symbolize Krabi: the province and surrounding area is considered to be one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Krabi also offers unrivalled activities and sports: scuba diving in unique soft coral reefs, world-class dive areas where you can see an amazing variety of marine life; fishing trips aboard fully equipped local boats; rock climbing days in the Railay peninsula; sea and river kayaking. Adventure seekers will not be bored in Krabi. Krabi Magazine .net is a website that will fill up your leisure time with hands-on articles on trips and tours to the province. If this is your first trip to this amazing corner of the world you’ve come at a great time. The Tourism Authority of Thailand no longer promotes the summer months as the ‘wet season’ or the ‘low season’ since it’s actually a very nice time to be in Thailand. The newly branded ‘Green Season’ is now in full swing and with fewer tourists, quiet beaches and cut-prices the great outdoors beckons as do the miles of beaches and fantastic food.
Our writer ventured to small and lush Tarnboke Koranee National Park and developed an intimate relationship with nature. Visiting friends from Spain experienced rock climbing for the first time, in Railay of course; we eat plenty of fruit, enjoy the unusually sunny weather and ponder on the hazards of mosquito coils, while a team of local environmentalists contribute to educate local children about marine conservation. Our man in Lanta goes through a quantum transformation... by having a suit made, while I ride a moped on a tour to discover Lanta natural and cultural treasures.
Elsewhere in this month’s magazine our info-packed mini guides have got all the info you need Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi and you’ll find it full of stories on what to do whilst on holiday in this amazing part of Thailand. From diving and climbing, island hopping, eating and drinking, green season activities and simply whiling away lazy days on the region’s best beaches. And if you are after a property in Krabi, have peep at our real estate section.
We hope you find our magazine inspirational and helpful whether you come to Krabi to eat, drink and relax on the beach or participate in any of the numerous activities on offer here in Thailand. Don’t forget to find our ever growing website too: www.krabi-magazine.com.
Enjoy your time navigating inside our invigorating website, soaking up our quality Krabi Magazine or reading one of our international newspapers, and make the most of your time in the Krabi Province; we wish you a wonderful stay in Thailand and in this amazing corner of the world.

 Andaman Camp Trip
Story & Photos : Paul Stretton
I had to chuckle to myself as I stared down at the crumpled pile of plastic and zips that could, in the right hands, become my shelter against the elements for the night. Memories of Cub Scout camps from further back than I’d care to admit came flooding back. In those days I could whip up an 8-man canvas monster of a thing in 15 minutes flat. All in the midst of an Irish ‘summer’ while dressed in shorts and woggle…

 The Andaman Freediving Challenge 2009
Story & Photos : Blue Planet Divers – Koh Lanta
“The scuba diver dives to look around, the Freediver dives to look inside” - Umberto Pelizzari.
Freediving is simple. A Freediver relies on a single breath of air to explore the undersea world. Moving gracefully without wasting energy, a Freediver can spend minutes underwater and experience the ocean as any other marine mammal does. Free from cumbersome equipment, a Freediver can sneak up on a turtle, or glide to the bottom for a meeting with a manta ray.

Adventure Down Under
Adventure can take many forms. Maybe sushi for the first time, a new relationship or job, or even a first time bungee jump on a windy day. They all qualify. Webster’s dictionary defines adventure as “an exciting or remarkable experience.” It’s when we break out of our daily routine and dare to take on a new challenge, boldly going into territory that is unfamiliar to us.
