Center Point has been the “place to be” of the nightlife in Ao Nang since 1999. It started as a small venue with a few bars and after a renovation in 2010 it became a modern entertainment complex where you can eat, drink, sing, buy souvenirs, enjoy exotic shows and even get a tattoo at the Cool Point Tattoo Club. Center Point’s building now oozes modernity with its brushed steel escalators and bright lighting.
Located on the beachfront, Center Point is easy to spot with its two entrances indicated by large signage. There are small shops selling the usual souvenirs such as Thai handicrafts, clothes, bags and jewelry. If you go before and between Blue Dragon Cabaret shows you may have the chance to take photos with the transgender performers trying to bring in more customers by parading on the sidewalk.
The ground floor is a large open air space surrounded by restaurants, bars and a tattoo place. You can eat well here thanks to the large choice of food outlets, including Tex Mex food at Long Horn Saloon, Middle Eastern food at Cairo Nights, Turkish food at Kebab House, Thai and Western food at In Bar & Restaurant and British food at Fish & Chips.
You can also quench your thirst at the range of bars such as Smile Bar, Kang Corner and Chang Bar and listen to live music at Long Horn Saloon where the band plays mostly western music; they are all available on the ground floor.
The second and third floors host a few bars that are not allowed to underage customers; there are some “go-go” bars with pole dancing, such as Sabina and The Rhythm Club. If you feel like singing, just go to the Web Bar and enjoy karaoke sessions or play some pool at Song Sea Bar, Holiday House and Rainbow Bar. Bars such as Rocky and KR Bar offer a terrace and live music.
Last but not least, if you feel like enjoying an exotic kind of dance, go to the Blue Dragon Cabaret, a ladyboy show located on the top floor of the complex. It offers three shows per night (20.00 pm, 21.30 pm and 23.00 pm). Discover their dances and lip syncing in colorful and shiny dresses, a must see in Thailand and especially in Ao Nang.
