Diver’s INN, the well-known German owned and operated restaurant located in downtown Ao Nang that has been in operation for over fifteen years, has just opened its all-new rooftop terrace.
Diver’s INN has been serving great cuts of delicious imported Australian meats to all tastes for over a decade now and has perfected the art of the sizzle. Traditional sirloin steaks are not all that you will find at Diver’s INN, the restaurant also serves tenderloins, rib eye steaks, spare ribs as well as a number of pork cuts and chicken dishes. To complement the main courses, the ever-popular salad bar is back and better than ever.
Diver’s INN being so close to the sea (and hence the name) has a number of great seafood options to choose from, such as the much favored surf and turf, a full plate of fresh Andaman Tiger Prawns or a generously sized Black Australian tenderloin, served with side potato dish as well as a plate from the salad buffet.
Care for some thick and flavorful sauces to compliment any dish? Well the staff has you covered, choose from the garlic butter, pepper sauce, mushroom sauce or the classic béarnaise sauce, any of which are sure to make any meal just plain better.
Since we are in Thailand, it is only reasonable that there should also be some Thai cuisine available. Choose from the Southern Thai favorite Tom Yum, spicy lemongrass and herb infused soup with fresh Andaman shrimp, or maybe the green curry, served with chicken. If spice is not your end game you can have the Massaman curry. Slightly sweet, rich in coconut milk, potatoes, chicken and peanuts.
If you are feeling a bit parched but you cannot make up your mind what to drink, Diver’s INN might change things for you. With wine from over eight countries including the wine giants (Italy, France, South Africa and Australia, but also the lesser known Argentina, Germany and New Zealand), there will be something for you. On the drinks list are also a number of imported Belgian beers such as Westmalle, Leffe, Kwaak, Delirium Tremens and Hoegaarden to name a few, as well as the traditional German wheatbeers like Erdinger or Weihenstephan and of course Thai beers.
One of our favorites is the Valpolicella Classico D.O.C. 2012 of Italian origin. This rich red wine, although it is slightly dry, offers a wonderful soothing blend between the rich and robust flavors of the German dishes to the dry, nutty flavor of the wine.
As there is a growing demand for gluten free food, you can order Thai and Western dishes without any gluten. Just ask the staff for suggestions. There is even a gluten free beer available and gluten free bread rolls served on demand with the salad plates and soups.
The Owner, Jurgen Weber, moved to Ao Nang twenty years ago and has been a resident here since. As an active member of the local community, Jurgen has made a name for himself and his restaurant and become a local favorite.
