The park topography varies from mountainous areas with deep slopes, to mangrove forests, low plain areas, ponds and canals. Geological form of coastal areas in the Andaman sea is affected by the Indosenia Teotonic Movement earth layers. The climate is influenced by tropical monsoon winds, inducing two seasons: the rainy season from May till December and the hot season from January to April. Temperatures average 17C to 37C while the average rainfall per year is 2,200 mm, with the highest precipitations in July and the lowest in February.
The flora of the park can be classified into 3 areas:
1) Primary rainforest, found in the high steep limestone mountains, where the soil layers are thin and frequently hit by strong winds. The soil is not naturally fertile, plant in this areas are rubber, iron wood, rattans, banyans and many kinds of vines.
2) Mangrove forest, found in dry klongs, or canals, where plants are red mangroves and white and black beans.
3) Phru forest, in the Noppharat Thara beach flat area, in which the dominant plants are samet, jambolan plum, casuarinas and pine trees. Fauna includes mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes and other aquatic animals, and corals.
